What is Lead Council?

Lead Council is a Christian community designed for individuals and families who want to use their voices to collectively advocate for life-affirming change in our communities and around the world.

Benefits of Lead Council

• First-hand updates about our fieldwork

• Collaboration with Bethany’s president and senior leadership team

• Invitation to annual Lead Council meeting

Members of Lead Council

We encourage Lead Council members to leverage their voices as ambassadors by :

Hosting gatherings with your personal or professional networks, Spreading awareness of key issues with your local church and community , Attending our biannual Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C., to engage with politicians, Inviting friends to participate in Lead Council meetings.

More about Bridgeway

Bethany’s transitional assessment center (TAC) and transitional foster care (TFC) program are housed in the Bridgeway facility. Through a tour of this facility, you’ll see firsthand the effort and work done to keep children safe and reunify them with their families in the U.S. This tour will include the onsite nontraditional school and the easily accessible clinical services, as well as a discussion about how Bethany creates an environment that fosters normalcy and success for the youth in the shelter. The shelter is the least restrictive setting offered to adolescent boys in the Office of Refugee Resettlement care and offers youth the opportunity for individualized and therapeutic care and access to the community.

You’ll see the unique blend of the TAC and TFC programs and how we create culturally sensitive and age-appropriate interventions to best serve our clients. We hope to continue Bethany’s mission by bringing distanced families back together and creating a family-like environment for the temporary time these youth are in Bethany’s care.
