Vice President of Regional Operations - East, Northeast, South Central - Nashville
Luke DeLaVergne was raised in Michigan and Indiana and relocated to Tennessee in 2003. Luke attended Harding University in Arkansas and received his Master of Counseling in 2007. Luke has worked for several youth-serving, non-profit organizations and has experience with at-risk youth, child abuse prevention, and post-adoptive counseling. Luke has been trained in Prepare-Enrich, TFCBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Multi-Systemic Therapy, and Attachment Therapy. Luke and his wife, Erica, have two beautiful children, Mayz and Olive. Luke serves as the Vice President of Regional Operations - East, Northeast, South Central.
State Director - Chattanooga
As an adoptee, Amy Scott knows that adoption is a lifelong journey, and strives to support her clients and staff well at each stage. Amy has been employed by Bethany since 2007 in various capacities, including adoption specialist for domestic and international adoption, post-adoption support and branch director in Chattanooga and now serving as the TN State Director. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1997 and a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy in 2007. She received specialized training in Trust Based Relational Intervention in 2012 and developed a local summer camp for adoptees built on the principles of TBRI. She completed a certification in Executive Leadership in 2019. Amy resides in Northwest Georgia with her husband and three daughters.
Assistant Branch Director - Nashville
Stephanie Shivers was raised in Illinois and has also lived in Colorado and Tennessee. Stephanie attended Colorado Christian University where she received her Master of Arts in Counseling in 2011. Stephanie serves as the Clinical Supervisor for the Middle Tennessee branch. Stephanie oversees all of the office's programs and values educating and training her staff. Stephanie also provides Post-Adoption services and home studies. Stephanie has received Prepare-Enrich and TBRI (Trust Based Relational Intervention) training. She is also a certified TBRI Educator. She is gifted in public speaking and has a special passion for equipping adoptive families for success. Stephanie and her husband, Taylor, have a son named Jackson and a daughter named Annabelle.
Adoption Specialist - Nashville
Grace Fennell was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee and attended Lipscomb University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 2013. Grace then went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Social Work and graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2014. Grace serves as the Pregnancy Counselor for the Middle Tennessee branch. Grace began working with Bethany Christian Services as an Intern in January 2013 and was hired in April of 2013. Grace loves providing care and assistance for the parents she feels privileged to serve. Grace has a passion to be a voice and an advocate for the families she works with and strives to always demonstrate the love and compassion of Jesus to them. Grace and her husband, Ben, were married in 2012 and both have a heart for ministry.
Dana P. Mills
Transitional Foster Care-Case Aide - Nashville
Dana Mills was born and raised in Rocky Mount, North Carolina and attended Trevecca Nazarene University where she received her bachelor’s degree in social work in 2018. Dana began working with Bethany Christian Services as in intern before being hired full-time. Dana has a strong passion for ensuring women and children are in loving and stable environments. She is also passionate about animals and is a dog mom to her mixed breed, Hazel Grace.
Amanda K. Cook
Safe Families Coach BS/BA - Nashville
Amanda Cook was born and raised in a small suburb right outside New Orleans, Louisiana. She graduated from Southeastern Louisiana State University in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work. She previously worked in the foster care and adoption field as a child welfare specialist and most recently as the director of an Early Childhood preschool program. Her education and career have always focused on her passion for working with and helping children and families. Amanda feels privileged to work alongside families, providing ongoing support in order to keep families together. Amanda and her husband, John, have 3 boys and enjoy traveling, being outdoors, and serving within their church in various capacities.
Andrea C. Slifer
Administrative Assistant - Nashville
Andi Slifer was born and raised outside of Dallas, Texas. She graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, hoping to work in the adoption nonprofit world. She interned for Show Hope during college, and worked as an administrator for Fellowship Bible Church before being hired at Bethany Christian Services. She has always had a passion for helping kids realize their value, especially those from hard backgrounds. She and her husband currently live in East Nashville with their puppy-boy, Ren, and hope to add to their family someday through adoption.
Debra L. Fleschner
Medical Coordinator - Nashville
Debbie is new to Bethany and comes with a background in social work and 16 years’ experience with families and children in Indiana. She is excited about serving a unique population here in Nashville and becoming an integral part of this team! She and her husband have 3 adult children who also work and live in the Nashville area. She recently returned from a trip to Australia and loves to travel, enjoys reading and going to concerts.
Intake Coordinator, Pregnancy Counselor and Family Therapist - Nashville
Leighton Teague is an Arkansas native who found her way to Nashville to pursue her counseling career. Leighton holds a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Harding University and is passionate about supporting families in their journeys. She is blessed to be able to do this with her counseling clientele and with the prospective adoptive families she is now meeting as a Bethany Intake Coordinator, Pregnancy Counselor and Family Therapist. Leighton's favorite part of Bethany's ministry is the way faith is upheld as an essential element in family formation and development.
Foster Care Adoption Specialist - Nashville
Shardon Love was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Much of, if not all of Shardon’s working life has been dedicated to working with and advocating for children and families in many different arenas. Shardon, her husband and two children now reside in Nashville. Shardon began working for Bethany Christian Services in April of 2019. To say the least, Shardon is passionate about what she does and is thankful for every opportunity she has to work with adoptive families and precious children. Shardon understands that what she does is a privilege and a blessing, does not take that for granted and is excited to serve!
