Safe Families for Children in Central Valley was established in 2014 and is a ministry of Bethany Christian Services. Our chapter serves Fresno, Madera, Kings, and Tulare counties.
In 2025 the Central Valley Safe Families has since
- 18 available Host Families
- 31 additional Circle of Support Volunteers
- 300 plus hostings since 2018
- 98% of hosted children return to their family
Safe Families stands with families facing a crisis or social isolation, to support parents in keeping their children safe and family together. The goal is to help build strong, resilient families in our community.
Safe Families reframes how families are supported when facing challenges through a network of volunteers called a Circle of Support, who partner with parents/guardians.
Through a community of devoted churches and volunteers, Safe Families creates extended family-like support for families facing crisis to keep children safe and families together.
Safe Families costs less than 5% of the average cost of foster care. Safe Families decreases the need for short-term state custody while improving child, parent, and community well-being. Staffing cost for one chapter averages $145,000 per year.
