The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption provides grants to adoption agencies, like Bethany, so we can hire and train adoption recruiters for kids waiting to be adopted from foster care.

These recruiters implement the program’s evidence-based Child-Focused Recruitment Model. When using this model, children – including older youth, sibling groups, and children with special needs – are up to three times more likely to be adopted before aging out of foster care.

Our recruiters work with smaller caseloads, ensuring that they can provide these children with the attention, resources, and support they need while they find adoptive families the children deserve. Dedicated to finding the best homes, we start with the youth’s familiar circles of family, friends, and neighbors—then we reach out to the communities in which they live.
