How does it work?
Phase 1
ProTrek students attend a weekly workshop. To accommodate schedules, they can select their designated day before the start of the cohort. ProTrek cohorts are offered twice a year: a summer cohort (April-June) and fall cohort (October-December). Students receive a stipend after completing phase 1.
Phase 2
ProTrek students who successfully complete ALL classes and employment readiness workshops will be eligible to participate in phase 2, paid work experience (PWE):
- Determined by each participant’s abilities, interests, and availability
- Allows students to apply skills they have learned during their 10-week training
- Opportunities do not apply to in-school cohorts or intensive cohorts
- PWE opportunities are in summer (June-August) and fall (December-February)
